We are on a mission to help great advisors make better financial decisions for their clients, with financial planning.
We started Snap Projections because we wanted to help Canadians make better financial decisions. We wanted them to have peace of mind while working and a better quality of life when they retire.
Our beliefs
We get that financial planning is complex. That’s why we believe that the vast majority of Canadians would be best served by working with a professional, fiduciarily-minded financial advisor or planner.
Technology can be enormously helpful, but it is our belief that it should never replace a human advisor. There is simply too much at stake.
Rather, we want to equip advisors with the best financial planning tools on the planet to help them make better financial decisions for their clients.
As the industry shifts toward the world of low fees, a new approach to planning is required.
That’s why Snap was designed from the ground up for you, an advisor. We’re driven to help you reduce your planning efforts, do more planning in less time, and fully engage your clients in the planning process by making it meaningful, educational, and collaborative.
Our approach
We interviewed over 3,000 Canadian financial advisors, planners and investment managers about what frustrates them in their financial planning process.
Advisors are frustrated because they spend too much time on planning. Their tools are cumbersome and hard to use, producing reports that clients simply don’t understand.
They complain that most software is optimized for asset accumulation while lacking in the de-accumulation phase.
Advisors have a hard time illustrating to clients their income in retirement, where from one source of income (employment), you end up with six or more different sources of income across various asset types like personal assets, corporate assets, pensions, government benefits, and others.
Making quick, interactive adjustments right in front of your clients’ eyes is impossible.
This leads to wasted time and frustrated, unengaged clients.
We worked hard to create a solution to turn this around.
That’s why Snap Projections is based on these 5 principles:
Effectiveness: It has to genuinely help advisors demonstrate and deliver value while simultaneously educate their clients, either in an office setting or in a virtual meeting.
Ease of use: It has to be easy to use and intuitive so you can become instantly productive. It has to be built on sound assumptions that are easy to understand and easy to communicate.
Customizability: It has to be incredibly customizable to address a variety of client situations allowing to create simple plans quickly and efficiently but capable of modelling complex scenarios.
Accuracy: It has to be tax-accurate and up to date with the current tax legislation.
Transparency: It has to be transparent so as an advisor you can review the calculations to have full confidence in the numbers.
The result is software that is easy to use, yet flexible enough to create personalized plans your clients easily understand and appreciate.
Our team
Snap Projections was founded by Pawel Brzeminski in the fall of 2014 in beautiful (though often freezing cold) Edmonton, Alberta. Today, our team is spread geographically between British Columbia and Nova Scotia, with the headquarters in Mississauga, Ontario.
